A Message from Mrs. Caudill
Several years ago I stopped asking my son the question, "How was school today?" Every day I got the same answer, "Fine". I would then follow it up with another question, "What did you do?" The answer, "Nothing". Well, I knew he did something. I knew his day was filled with learning, laughter, excitement and maybe even frustration. What I eventually figured out is that I needed to reframe how I asked my questions. Now I ask him questions like:
- "What's the coolest thing that happened today?"
- "Pretend you're the teacher. How would you describe the day?"
- "What made you laugh?"
- "What was the most creative thing you did?"
- "How were you kind or helpful today?"
- "How was someone kind or helpful to you?"
Now, I still might get one word answers or "I dunno" every once in a while. But, now most days, I not only know what he did at school, I know how he felt when he was there. If you are struggling like I did, perhaps you could ask your after-school questions differently. They made a world of difference to me ❤
Stay well,
Devon Caudill

Northville Schools will host drive-thru COVID-19 testing
In partnership with the State of Michigan and MDHHS, Northville Schools will host drive-thru COVID-19 testing opportunities in the Northville High School parking lot (45700 Six Mile Rd, Northville, MI.) The drive-thru testing event is open to all Northville residents and the public and will be taking place on Sunday, April 25, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
We have been advised by the COVID-19 testing contractor that they have encountered some programming issues with the pre-scheduling module for Sunday’s COVID-19 testing event at Northville High School, and as a result, the scheduling feature has been deactivated. However, if you have previously made an appointment for Sunday’s testing event prior to the deactivation of the scheduling module, please advise the parking lot monitor upon entering the site, and you will be moved to a separate line.
We apologize for any inconvenience. Although the pre-scheduling module has now been deactivated, we continue to encourage your participation in the COVID-19 testing event on Sunday.
During the drive-thru testing event, participants will receive a rapid test and receive results with 15 minutes. Individuals who receive positive rapid test results will be given the opportunity to receive a follow-up PCR test, receiving those results with 24-48 hours.

CLOSE CONTACT QUARANTINE PROCEDURES
As you may be aware, there has been a significant increase in the number of COVID cases in our community, and across Michigan over the course of the past several weeks. Citing the increasing case rates and variant spread in Michigan, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has reinstated a standard 14-day quarantine for close contacts of COVID-19 cases effective immediately.
Please remember to use the Wayne County Health Department COVID-19 Daily STUDENT Symptom Screening Tool (2.16.2021) each morning to determine if your child can come to school.
We thank you in advance for being mindful of these requirements, as they keep your children and ALL of our children and staff safe.

April Focus: Caring! Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw!
Every month Amerman Focuses on a new theme and Leader in Me Habit of the Month. The focus for the month of April is Caring and our Habit of the Month is Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw!
This month’s Habit: Habit #7 - Sharpen the Saw
What this means: Balance is Best. Seek continuous improvement and renewal professionally and personally.
Sharpen the Saw means preserving and enhancing the greatest asset you have–you. It means having a balanced program for self-renewal in the four areas of your life: physical, social/emotional, mental, and spiritual. Here are some examples of activities:

- I balance my time between school, extracurricular activity, family, and friends
- I an always learning how to become a better person
