A Message From the Principal
Fall is in the air and even a Pandemic cannot detour the arrival of a new and beautiful season filled with Thanks and Giving. May this bountiful month be a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a difference and embracing and Attitude of Gratitude is a gift we all have the ability to share with others.
Just recently, I was sitting in the Starbucks line, excited for my first taste of a pumpkin latte with heavy whip, when I realized that the anticipation of this simple pleasure put me in the best mood ever. It would be a great start to my morning and I slowly made my way to the drive-through window to complete my purchase and collect my coffee. The young girl welcomed me at the window, handed me a frothing cup of deliciousness pumpkin, and said, "Your drink has been paid for by the driver in front of you and she wishes you a wonderful day." I was so taken back by the random act of kindness, it took me a moment to gather my thoughts and smile big! I drove out of the parking lot frantically looking for the lady in the red car to thank her for making my day but she was long gone. I was filled with an Attitude of Gratitude for a stranger I had never met and so excited to share the joy with others as I look for ways to pay it forward. I was right, the first taste of a cup of coffee was a great way to start my day but a random act of kindness made it... oh, so much sweeter!
As many of you already know, TVUSD will not be reopening elementary schools on November 30th as originally planned. Due to a variety of factors including the recent announcement from Riverside County Health that the county had regressed from the red tier indicator to the more restrictive purple tier, TVUSD has revised plans and hopes to reopen in January 2021. While I do understand the great disappointment shared by our students and staff, the commitment to keep our community safe and healthy must continue to be our top priority. Thank you once again, for your amazing flexibility, patience, understanding, and support as we continue to navigate through these times of uncertainty. As Author, Mandy Hale once said,
"TRUST THE WAIT.
EMBRACE THE UNCERTAINTY.
ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF BECOMING.
WHEN NOTHING IS CERTAIN,
ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE."
We will continue to support our students and staff in learning beyond the building as we eagerly anticipate the return to the building. I am humbled to serve and lead in this community and if there is anything I can do to support you or your child during this historical time in education, please feel free to reach out to me or any member of the AES Team. I wish you and your family a happy and healthy holiday season. Together, we will TRUST THE WAIT.
Fondly, Jenniffer Aynesworth
A Note from Preschool
Hello Preschool Families! It is hard to believe it is November already! I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the change in weather as much as I am! We are completing our 3rd week of Preschool On-Line Learning Centers and, I have to say, it has been so wonderful to have kiddos back on campus! I would like to give a big shout out to our preschool staff who continue to work so very hard to connect with all of our preschool families and provide each student the best education possible, regardless of the learning environment. As I mentioned last month, our preschool support team continues to work on putting together a virtual Parent Resource Center full of helpful resources addressing many different topics. Today I wanted to share some tips and strategies to facilitate compliance. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns, and remember to take care of yourself and Choose Happy! J
Fondly,
Janelle Peters

A Social, Emotional, Learning Message...
This month’s focus is teaching children about Gratitude and the impact Gratitude has on others. Gratitude means feeling thankful and appreciative for what you already have. Gratitude isn’t just about being thankful for the big things in your life, it’s about learning to notice all the little things that happen that you can be happy about too. By focusing on the positive things in your life, you end up feeling better. When practiced on a regular basis gratitude can significantly increase overall well-being and productivity. Gratitude has been shown to improve life satisfaction and happiness, help build peer connections, and decrease feelings of anxiety and depression.
Here are some family resources and activities you can do at home with your children to help teach Gratitude.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Tina Marks, AES Social Worker

Message from PTO
Hello AES Families, Teachers, and Staff,
As we move into November, we would like to take a moment to thank all who support PTO and our efforts to support our students. We are grateful for all your kindness and support throughout this year and years past. We couldn’t do the things we do or accomplish our goals without the support of our AES families, administration, teachers, staff, and community members. Whether it be participating in fundraisers (AmazonSmile, Box Tops, Restaurant Nights, etc.), giving your time to attend our general meetings, servicing on our board, or any other volunteer position we have to fill, we appreciate all that you give to help us succeed for our students. We are grateful for your support.
With Veteran’s Day coming up, we would like to take a moment to thank all our military members past and present for their service to our country and for sacrificing time away from their loved ones to keep us safe. I would also like to thank our Alamos families, that have military members, for their sacrifice to hold down the home front while our military men and women are away. Thank you for your time, sacrifice, and service to our country. We appreciate you and honor you this month and always.
We are really excited to announce that we will be holding our first Chick-Fil-A Night on November 17th from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Temecula location by the mall. Please see the flyer attached below for more information. We look forward to this event and hope to make it a great success for our students.
Our next Spirit Day is Crazy Hair or Hat Day on November 20th. If you would like to participate in these days, send us some pictures of you and your family in your spirit day wear and we will share them on our Facebook, website, and in our Mission Possible Mondays. We love to see your school spirit.
If you ever have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to our PTO President at
alamospto@gmail.com. You can follow us and stay up to date with important information on our website at https://alamospto.wixsite.com/alamoselementarypto and on our Facebook at
