Cold Springs High

September 2021

Welcome Back!

I would like to take a moment to welcome everyone back to another year as we have had a great six weeks to begin the 2021-22 school year. It has been great to have our students back in our building and to see them interacting with fellow students and faculty members to make the most of their high school years. Although it is our mission to provide our students with the best education possible, we also want to encourage them to be as active as possible within the school and community to make a positive difference. It is our goal that each student will be a part of at least one after school club or organization that encourages volunteering, teamwork, and helping others. As a school we are appreciative of the support we receive from our parents as we face issues such as Covid within our community. Please know that we will always do everything we can within our school to protect the health of each student so that they can continue their daily educational routine. With that said, I cannot stress enough the importance of attendance at school and how it equates to a student’s success. We all understand that circumstances occur outside of our control. I would just encourage everyone that when possible to make every effort to attend school. Finally, we are a little over a week away from Homecoming Week, which is easily the students’ favorite week of the year. Most would think that a school administrator would absolutely dread this week but that could not be further from the truth. There is simply nothing like the creativity and spirit the students put into that week, and I look forward to it every year just as much as they do. As always, if our school can be of any assistance, do not hesitate to contact us. Have a great weekend.

Meet our SRO

Deputy Drew Shelnut joined CSH this fall. He is married with five children. Deputy Shelnut enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors and cooking. We are thankful to have him on campus to protect and serve our community.

Friday Night Lights, Saturday Runs, and Spikes

Come out and support our fall sports and band. They have all worked hard, put a lot time in each program, and deserve our support. We appreciate the coaches and band director for the time they spend with their programs.

Welcome to the family!

Hello, Cold Springs HIgh School! I am very excited to be here with you all. I am starting my 21st year in education, and every year I am just as excited for the school year. I have been very welcomed here at Cold Springs. If I haven't met you yet, I look forward to meeting you. I can tell we have a great community and parental support. It is easy to EXPECT TO BE GREAT with all of the support. Go Eagles!

Counselor's Corner

Hello, everyone! I am so happy to be your counselor here at Cold Springs! I've loved meeting you! I've met with all students during their social studies classes and reminded them there is no way to NOT KNOW what is going on! I have REMIND, a counselor Facebook page, a counselor Instagram page, and a website. Students need to make sure they have joined the Counselor Remind for their graduating class and follow either Facebook or Instagram to keep up to date.

Students of the Month

Congratulations to Erin Bailey and Malaya Taylor. The girls volunteered their time before school started to paint the girls bathroom. They spent several days getting it ready for the school year.

Erin is on the basketball and softball teams. She is also VP of SGA, a member of Anchor Club and FCCLA. After high school Erin plans to attend Georgia State University to major in kinesiology and minor in anatomy.

Malaya is a member of the basketball and volleyball teams. She plans to attend college after school to become a nurse anesthetist or a nurse practioner for the neonatal unit.

We are so proud of these girls and their willingness to help others.
