North News

Week of 11/15/2020

Hello, this is Mrs. Webb with the weekly edition of North News.

This week begins our last full week of in person learning through November. Cohort A will come to school M/W/F of this week with Cohort B coming their regular T/TH. The following week of November 23rd will be Arctic Academy Days Monday through Wednesday. No live instruction will occur but assignments will be on the Google Classrooms. Lunches will not be available.

With Thanksgiving occurring on the 26th, Governor Justice announced Friday that school would not have live instruction for one week following the holiday. Therefore, November 30, December 1 and 2nd will be remote. That means that teachers will be having live instruction through the Google Classrooms like we did during the month of September. On December 3rd Cohort B will come back to school. The county has not decided which cohort will come live on December 4th, but I will let you know when that decision has been made.

Report Cards will go home with our Cohort A students on the 20th. Cohort B and distance students will have their report cards mailed to them. If your address has changed, make certain the office knows so we can make those updates in our system.

Remember that your child is counted absent when they do not complete their work on the at home learning days. Additionally, distance students are marked absent when they don't log into their classes and/or complete work. Our expectation is that learning still occurs during the at home days. If you have concerns about whether your child is meeting our expectations, please reach out to us. We are a text away in the Remind system.

I hope your weekend was swell and you are doing well. With the weekly edition of North News, this is Mrs. Webb. Make it a great week, or not, the choice is yours.
