CHECKING REPORT CARD GRADES
Quarter 2 Report Cards are now available on PowerSchool.
Log into PowerSchool (preferably on a desktop, not mobile device) with either your parent login information OR your student's login information if you don't have a parent login.
Click on "Grades & Attendance" and then you will see the Quarter 2 report card under the "Report Card" tab.
If you have multiple students, you will need to select each student individually at the top of the screen.
Thanks to the generous support from our Smith families this year, the Smith PTO was able to fulfill all teacher grant requests! Our students will be enjoying new books, gym equipment, more efficient storage, science kits, microphones, and creation lab supplies to name a few. Some of these items will even be used to build a very cool bench for the hallway with chargers! Our Smith teachers express their sincere gratitude! Thank you, Smith families, for your continued support!
World Read Aloud Day
6th graders in Mrs. Taylor’s reading and writing classes celebrated World Read Aloud Day with some picture book fun! A big thank you to the PTO for the grant which allowed all students to use Play-Doh to make symbols of their books. We even Zoomed with authors from South Africa and Canada. Students reflected and said it was, “Stress-free, relaxing, creative and fun to read and create with Play-doh!”
Math Club Competition
CALLING ALL SMITH BAKERS!
Mark your calendars for the PTO cupcake sale on Tuesday, February 14th. This sale is for the students. It will be held during the three lunches. If you are interested in baking or donating for this event, please drop off the decorated cupcakes at the main office on either Monday, February 13th immediately after school OR before 10 am on Tuesday the 14th.
All cupcakes will be $1.00 each. Please bring in nut free cupcakes only. Cupcake containers/carriers: If you want them to be returned, they need to be labeled with your child's first and last name. You or your child can pick them up later that day from the main office. Please contact Christine Austin at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Plant Mash-Up Contest
Calling all 6th, 7th and 8th graders who like to be creative, solve problems AND WIN MONEY!
Scholastic is hosting its Plant Mash Up Contest from now until March 7th. Students who enter will envision, draw, and describe their own hybrid plant to solve a challenge in their community. Winners can earn prizes including up to a $500 VISA gift card and your project featured on Scholastic's website. Fliers are posted around Smith for more information, or see Mrs. Bonnell in Room 2.
Please take a moment to review the drop-off / pick-up map below. We are seeing some specific issues in the parking lot that we want to bring to your attention.
- The middle lane is for drop-off / pick-up only. Please do not park in that row. Pulling in and out of the parking spots is slowing down drop-off and creating dangerous situations for students and vehicles.
- If you are going to park your car for drop-off / pick-up, please use the third row of parking spots highlighted in below in blue.
- Please do not drop students off at the Martell/Cotswold intersection.
Thank you for your continued patience and attention to safety as we have over 600 students entering and exiting our school every day!
We have a great online spirit wear store with a number of new modern styles and items for purchase. You can either pick them up or utilize the option of having your orders delivered directly to your home for a small fee.
