Dear Robert Hunter families,

Thank you to everyone who showed some extra appreciation to our amazing teachers this past week! Their dedication to the Robert Hunter community makes a difference every day! We loved highlighting some of the great things that are happening at Robert Hunter when board members Susan Mitcheltree, Melanie Rosengarden, along with Dr. McGann came to visit our building.

Please take some time to read more about Diversity Night below! We are looking for families to share about their cultures and backgrounds. Presentations can be done by the students alone or together, along with families; and they can be as simple as teaching some words in another language. (See the flyer for additional ideas!)We are also looking for families to bring in food to share. Please reach out if you have any questions, and we hope you will consider participating! This is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the beautiful diversity of our community!

Also, remember to check out the flyers for the summer programs being offered at Robert Hunter, though the PTO! Registration for the summer enrichment camps for current K-4 students closes on May 27th.

Happy Mother’s Day, and we look forward to seeing many families at the PTO basket auction this upcoming Friday!

Warm regards,

Mrs. Glaab and Mrs. Braynor

Miming in the 3rd Grade

This week, our 3rd grade team had the special opportunity to learn about storytelling through mime with the Young Authors Day assembly program. The students wrote their own stories and then saw them come alive through mime. The 3rd grade halls were buzzing with excitement! Thank you to the PTO for funding these wonderful opportunities that enhance our students’ educational experiences.

2nd Grade Wax Museum

The 2nd graders were able to present their wax museum this past week! Students did an amazing job speaking in front of an audience about their individual that they researched in their biography study. Well done, 2nd graders!

The New Jersey State Learning Assessment (NJSLA) will be administered to 3rd and 4th grade students during the Week of May 16th and May 23rd. Students will be using their chromebooks for the assessments, so chromebooks will not be coming home in order to ensure students have their devices in school. Please have students bring their chargers back to school as soon as possible, so we can be sure we are prepared and ready for the assessment. We ask that you send in earbuds/headphones if your child does not already have them in school. Please note that bluetooth headphones and/or mice are not permitted for the state assessment.

Smart watches are not permitted to be worn during the assessment - please leave these watches at home.
