A TCS Update
Annual Retiree Tea
Many retirees expressed their reflections on their time working in TCS.
"I am just reflecting on the many years have I have been here in the Tuscaloosa City Schools--happy years, just remembering the students, my colleagues and the administrators," said Dr. Cynthia Smith, a counselor at Oakdale Elementary School.
Others acknowledged that in starting a new chapter in life, they will leave a piece of themselves behind.
"I have mixed emotions about this day because I still love being in the classroom and of course l love my school," said Amanda Akins, a teacher at Verner Elementary School. "It's like leaving a family, but starting a whole new exciting chapter. So I'm excited about if someone asks me to go to the beach, I can go!"
This year's retirees will leave our school system having contributed a combined 906 years of service.
School Leadership Effectiveness Survey
Community input is an important part of evaluating our schools and leadership. This is your chance to share feedback about TCS schools and leadership! Our survey asks about important topics like school operations, safety, student support, and family involvement. Your feedback is an integral part of our school leader evaluations. Last week, parents and staff received personal survey invitations. If you didn’t receive one, you can take the survey at www.tuscaloosacityschoools.com/2019survey
All responses are strictly confidential! This survey closes May 14.

Data Vertification
System officials use Infosnap to ensure students have access to transportation and critical health services while at school and gain updated contact information from families. To begin the process, either locate the Infosnap email in your inbox or visit https://www.tuscaloosacityschools.com/snap and use your snapcode. The snapcode is a key to unlock your child's data verification portal and can be found on your child's March report card or by contacting your child's school secretary.
