Activism for Social Change Events: Fatimah Asghar
RSVP below or email rcanfiel@knox.edu to hold your spot for this trip. There is limited space, so rsvp asap. The van will leave from the front of Alumni Hall at 6:30p. The presentation is scheduled from 7-8:00 p.m. We will arrive back on campus no later than 9:00p.
Fatimah Asghar is a nationally touring poet, screenwriter, educator and performer. Her work has appeared in many journals, including POETRY Magazine, Gulf Coast, and many others. In 2011 she created a spoken word poetry group in Bosnia and Herzegovina called REFLEKS while on a Fulbright studying theater in post-genocidal countries. She is the writer and co-creator of Brown Girls, a web series that highlights friendships between women of color.

CIL Alternative Spring Break, Applications are now open!
The CIL is now taking applications for a trip visiting Memphis, Birmingham, Montgomery, Selma, Tuskegee and Nashville from March 13th-March 18th. Students selected are asked to commit to attending several conversations during winter term in preparation for the trip as well as making a $100 deposit.
Please fill out this google form no later than November 3rd. You must also have a letter of recommendation from a Knox College faculty or staff member submitted to either Becky Canfield, rcanfiel@knox.edu or Tianna Cervantez, tcervant@knox.edu. It can also be sent to K-134.

CARNIVAL FOR THE KNOX COMMUNITY!
When: Saturday, November 4th
Time: 3pm - 5pm
Where: Knox Fieldhouse
M.E.Ch.A, Lo Nuestro, Alliance for Peaceful Action, and AAINA are partnering for a carnival to raise relief funds for Latinx countries affected by natural disasters. The carnival will consist of various activities, raffles, street foods and simple carnival foods with musical performances. All ages are welcome.
