Putting Your Best Face Forward

MAKE THIS YOUR "YEAR OF GREAT SKIN"

For 2016, commit to a new good skin habit a month and you just might ring in 2017 looking younger than you did in 2015! And the proof is in the photos. This January, create a baseline photo to track your progress.

When it comes to changing habits, seeing results really helps. But the daily changes that come with a new skincare routine may be so subtle that you don’t even notice the cumulative benefits that are occurring over time. Stack the deck in your favor; start the year with a baseline digital photo of your face as a reference point to track your progress throughout the year. Here’s how to get started:

  • Remove all make-up
  • Put your hair into a ponytail or use a headband to keep your hair out of your face
  • Find a neutral background with consistent light
  • Snap a photo of your face to reference throughout the year, and don't be afraid to get CLOSE. We actually want to see those wrinkles (disappear)!
  • Be on the lookout every month for my monthly tip that can help to reverse and prevent the signs of aging on your face

MY JANUARY GOOD SKIN TIP TO YOU

BE FLEXIBLE WITH YOU SKIN CARE ROUTINE TO MEET YOUR CURRENT NEEDS.

You may find your skin needs extra attention and moisture during the harsh winter months or in dry climates. Help promote cell turnover and keep your skin moisturized!

Exfoliate to prepare the skin. Proper exfoliation removes the dulling dry skin cells that create a barrier to your moisturizer while helping younger, more vibrant cells rise to the surface. Try ENHANCEMENTS Micro-Dermabrasion Paste, a salt and sugar combination in a high-glide, oil-free formula designed to promote gentle exfoliation for brighter-looking skin. Use the paste intermittently to buff off dead cells and improve skin tone and texture. But don't overdo it! 2-3 times per week is all you need.

Hydrate skin from the outside in. As the weather gets crisper and drier, you may want to add a more emollient moisturizer to your Regimen, like SOOTHE Moisture Replenishing Cream to keep skin well hydrated. The humidity levels outside determine how dry your skin is - not how much water you consume - so apply moisturizer if you’re feeling dry. In your home, crank up a humidifier to keep humidity levels at an ideal 50 percent.

Additionally, if you feel your skin going through a transition phase - unwanted or not - don't be afraid to retake my Solution Tool to make sure you are properly addressing current needs. In fact, I encourage you to do so right now! CLICK HERE
