The Lady Trojans

Congratulations to the Lady Trojans on their victory! They won 43-21 against Thompson with a strong defense! They will play again Tuesday, February 23rd at 12:00 PM against the Hoover Bucks! We will take pep buses! Bring a note to Ms. Weir on Monday! The pep buses will depart at 10:00 AM and will return at 3:30 PM. At the end of the first block the students that are riding the bus will report to the old gym to load the buses. Be sure to buy your tickets ($8.00) in advance and bring them back with your name on it for an excused absence!

Balfour Cap & Gown

Balfour representatives will be here during lunch to take payments for cap and gown! The cost is $100.00. They will be here Tuesday, February 23rd, Wednesday, February 24th, February 29th, and March 1st. There are no fee waivers for the cap and gown graduation fees. The Junior Optimist Club is "rolling" in the new year with a toilet paper drive for Manna House! The toilet paper drive starts today! The Junior Optimist Club will be collecting toilet paper until February 25th. Toilet paper can be dropped off in Mrs. Thompson's room N133 or Mrs. Braduaway's room C112. 2016 Xi Omicron Chapter Scholarship

Each year Xi Omicron Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated awards three scholarships to deserving students in the Huntsville City and Madison County community. The John L. Cashin, Sr. Scholarships are granted annually to graduating seniors who demonstrate excellence in the classroom and in the community. Please take a moment to review the instructions and application requirements within the attached files. Applications for 2016 scholarships are now being accepted and the deadline is Friday, April 15th, 2016.

Revision to Pre-Approved Absence Policy- Students requesting pre-approved, excused absences will need to turn the form into Mrs. Sharp at least 20 days before the planned absence. Forms can be found on the school website.

Procedure for Riding the Bus with a Friend
- Any student who plans to ride home on a bus with a friend or to another address should follow the procedures below. No student will be allowed to ride to a different address without verification of parent/guardian approval by a school official.

1. A parent/guardian note should be turned in before first block to the receptionist desk at the back of the school. The note should contain the address and information for the bus driver and should include the date and a correct phone number for verification purposes.

2. Pick up the verified note from the receptionist during lunch.

3. Give the note to the bus driver when entering the bus at the end of the school day.

First Priority/FCS
meets every Tuesday morning at 8:00 in the Black Box Theatre. All students are welcome to attend.

Going green at “the Green”. The Hazel Green High School Special Education Department needs your old cell phones and ink cartridges. Items to be recycled can be given to a Special Education teacher or left for collection at the office. Your support of our recycling fundraiser is greatly appreciated.

Parents/Students/Employees, please remember to use your reward cards when you visit Publix and Hazel Green Pharmacy. Every time you have them swipe your card, HGHS will receive a portion of the sale. If you need a reward card, just stop by the main office to pick one up.

Driver’s permit:
Students /Parents, remember to pick up the Student Enrollment Form before you go to get your permit. The driver’s license department will not allow you to take the test unless you have this form and it cannot be faxed after you get there. These forms are good for 10 days only.

Loyalty Reward Tags:
(Hazel Green Pharmacy Loyalty Key Tag Program) Parents/Students/Employees, please remember to use your loyalty key tag when you visit Hazel Green Pharmacy. Every time you purchase a Prescription/Gift/OTC have them swipe your tag. HGHS will receive a portion of the sale. If you need a loyalty key tag, just stop by the main office to pick one up.
