Counseling Update for Staff
April 2016
Classroom Guidance
All students received a lesson on career awareness. I shared with all students the importance of being a good team member and being on time as skills that are vital in any career choice . This was information that was shared with counselors by our business leaders in McDowell County. They shared that workers are lacking "soft" skills.
MANNA Food drive
Thanks to all students and staff who brought food for our food drive. We collected 934 pounds.
Enjoying our day wearing hats and jeans.
Thanks for supporting MANNA.
Small Groups, individuals, 504's , events and meetings
I spent the majority of April writing and meeting with staff and parents regarding 504's, coordinating fifth grade countywide career fair, and gathering info for transition activities for our fifth graders and upcoming kindergarteners.
Most individuals that I need to check in with are in small groups. Small groups will be winding down soon. I haven't been able to be consistent with the one on one kids because of all the above things. My goal is to focus on these students once I stop small groups.
