Strategic Planning
You're Invited!
Strategic Planning Steering Committee
You are invited to help shape the future of San Felipe Del Rio CISD through its Strategic Planning Process as a member of the Steering Committee. As a key community stakeholder, your perspective is critically important to inform the direction of the district over the next 3-5 years. Below you will find more information about the Steering Committee and the Strategic Planning Process. We are excited to engage in this exciting process and hope that you will join us in discovering new possibilities for our District!
What Is Strategic Planning?
Strategic Planning is a stakeholder-driven process to continuously create vital systems that serve an extraordinary purpose for our schools. Together, the community will create a 3-5 year district plan by arriving at a district mission/vision, drafting strategies/objectives, and creating action plans. An overview of the Strategic Planning Process is outlined below. *You are being asked to contribute to the process as a Steering Committee member and will not be required to participate in the Presentation of the Plan to the School Board.
What is the Steering Committee?
The Steering Committee is comprised of key members of the community: parents, teachers, students, school administrators, board members, business and church leaders, etc. It is necessary for each of these perspectives to be heard while considering the future of the district. *It is ideal that Steering Committee members attend both Steering Committee meetings.
What Does the Steering Committee Do?
The Steering Committee will meet in two meetings. The 1st Steering Committee meeting consists of a full day workshop. In this session, you and other key committee members will identify common core values that are held by the community. After which, a district mission/vision will be arrived at to guide the work over the next 3-5 years. Once this common purpose has been identified, strategies and objectives will be developed to determine how the mission can best be achieved. Once the Action Plans are created by the Action Planning Committee, the Steering Committee will reconvene in the 2nd Steering Committee Meeting (1/2 day workshop) to offer feedback.
