Holiday Shoppe

A much-anticipated annual event, Vernfield's Holiday Shoppe, will be held on December 3-6 during the school day. Children will have the opportunity to shop for the special people (and animals!) in their lives, and all items are priced $.25-$5.00.

Budget envelopes came home on Tuesday, November 27th. Please help your child create a list of people and budget, and send it to school on the day specified at the top of the envelope. You can send cash OR purchase a gift certificate for the shop at https://holidayshop.org/gift-certificates/.

The shop is set up and run by parents. If you are interested in volunteering or have any other questions, please contact Diane Gerhart at dm_gerhart@yahoo.com.

Pine Tree Project

When students returned from the break, they were greeted by 5 newly planted Pennsylvania White Pine Trees. The trees are part of an Eagle Scout Project by Evan Magee funded by the HSA. As these trees grow, they will provide a shady place for students to gather on the playground during hot days. Our thanks to Evan for thinking of the needs of the Vernfield students in pursuit of his Eagle Scout rank. Best of luck Evan!

Did You Know?

Did you know that a few years ago the District presented a series of workshops for parents under the program Parent University? Videos of those workshops are still available online here.

One of the workshops is Understanding the Elementary Progress Report. The video is available in both English and Spanish. Anyone with questions about the first trimester progress reports going online on December 10th may find this workshop helpful.
