PK 4.3 - Weekly Newsletter
Talking about changes has been the main focus during this week and 2 days that we've been back to school. After all, the only constant thing in life is change- and together we can help our little ones in acquiring social-emotional skills that can help them through those during their whole life.
We started the semester with bittersweet news from our dear friend Manuela- We had a farewell celebration for her and we were able to spend some time with her before she moves back to Brazil with her family. We wished her well and indeed, we're going to miss her a lot!
This week, we also kicked off our Rocks study!!!
Children love to explore and collect objects outdoors. Rocks are particularly appealing to young children. They love to pick them up, put them in their pockets, dump them out, sort, and examine them. Children like the weight, sparkles, colors, shapes, patterns, and feel of rocks.
During small groups, we were able to reinforce our fine motor skills and our knowledge on letters and letters sounds. We also turned into little geologists and went rock hunting to expand our rock collection and take a closer look at them.
Last (but definitely NOT least), we were getting ready to welcome a new member into our school family!!!!!!! Omar is going to join us next week and we can't wait to meet him! He was scheduled to come today, but he's sick. All of us were worried and expecting him so he already feels like one of us ♥♥
So yeah- it has been quite like a roller-coaster ride in here :) we're sticking to the good things and look forward to have fun, keep learning and enjoying our times in PK 4.3!

Reminders
1. Please send in by Tuesday a rock around the size of your palm. Students will be painting them
2. Since it's summertime, please remember kids should wear sunscreen every day. I highly suggest you send us a cap for them to wear when we go outside and we'll keep them in their cubbies just like their spare clothes
