I wasn't going to write any information this week and just encourage you to read the writing of the 7th and 8th graders. There are great things going on in every classroom each day. This is just an example of how wonderful our teachers are and what they can bring out in our students.

I am also getting used to Covid changing things. I know that you are likely excited about the changes in the county order regarding masks. However, the health department still strongly recommends that we keep them on in-doors. Like most public and private schools that have been open, the masks allow us to consider most exposures as low risk. We have three students that are positive this week, if we did not have masks on, we would have had to quarantine all the students in these three classrooms. Which means that all students in those classrooms would be working from home and unable to participate in activities until the 10-14 day quarantine period was over. When we return on Monday we will have 16.5 days of school in May. Please support the SHOJ mask requirement (even at school Masses) until the last day of school so that those families that want to enjoy graduations, summer sports, and vacations can do so.

Summer Tutoring

Several of the teachers at Sacred Heart will be available over the summer for tutoring. If you are interested in signing your child up with a teacher for tutoring, feel free to email any of the teachers below to reserve a spot. The teachers typically charge $35 per hour of tutoring for an individual student and $30 an hour per child in a small group session.

There were three positive cases and 2 new quarantines this week.

I would like to thank you for being prudent in keeping your children home when they have symptoms that might be contagious or allergies too difficult to manage at school. It is always best to err on the side of safety when there is a potential to expose a large number of people to any communicable disease. I appreciate your support in helping me to keep the health and safety SHOJ my top priority.
