Pk3.1 WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
September 4th, 2015- Week 3
Hello Pk3.1 Parents,
We welcomed two new faces to our classroom, Maximo and Isabelle! We now have a total of 16 students in PK3.1! The days seem to be flying by so quickly, I hope your children are enjoying it as much as Ms.Giselle and I are. This week was a continuation of "What are our school/classroom rules?" and "When do things happen at school?" We spend the first half of the week going over expectations inside the classroom (arrival, clean-up, taking turns, snack and wrap-up). We talked about how we should treat our friends and our toys. We learned a new rhyme called "Hickory Dickory Dock" which lead into discussion about our daily schedule. We introduced a new game where you throw a beanbag at a basket and answer if it went "inside" or "behind". We'll expand this game once we become more familiar with the terms in English. Wednesday we had our first art class with Mrs. Mirtie, who taught the kids about lines (curvy, straight, zig-zag). We had our 2nd garden class with Ms. Sharon where we planted seeds and read a book called "inch by inch." We had a SPECIAL GUEST on Friday, Mrs.Gabriela (Maria Isabella's Mom) came in to do a craft with the students. The kids were overjoyed with the beautiful butterflies Mrs. Gabriela helped create! If you would like to be a SPECIAL GUEST, please email me!
Sincerely,
Ms.Rebekka

Special Request and Reminders:
On September 7th we'll be having a Lock Down Drill.
OUR CLASS IS OFFICIALLY A "NUT FREE ZONE" please make sure to check your child's snack and lunch before sending them to school.
The "back to school illness" is upon us. Please remember that children should not be at school if they are unwell or recovering from any illness. If a child is unwell we advise they should remain at home to rest and recover. We would recommend children be fever free, or free from stomach sickness or similar illness before returning to school.
