Ripon Cathedral School Update

The Annual Duck Race
The sun shone on us again for the duck race. The winners are announced below in the Friends' section of the Update. We would like to add our thanks expressly to the Friends.
A small group, supported by everyone who turns up for events, works really hard and it's wonderful that a lot of their fundraising activities double up as great community events. It was fantastic to see so many families down by the river. Believe it or not, the staff who stand in the river ready to catch the ducks actually enjoy it too!

Well Done Year 6!
We have been very proud of the attitude of all our Year 6 children this week. After an early start and healthy breakfast in the school hall (we all know a good breakfast sets you up for the day ahead!), they have all tried their very best in their SATs exams this week. Year 2 have also been involved in SATs tests and assessments.
Our special thanks to our lovely PCSO Donna-Lise for coming along to the breakfast on Thursday to encourage the children, and the staff and governors who got here early every day to serve the breakfast.
Cathedral School has always stood for a rounded education. Next week we are looking forward to our Performing Arts Week.
Are you in finance or business?
The Governing Body are currently looking for a new recruit who might have financial or business skills to add to the team. The commitment could be as few as four meetings a year. If you are interested and have the necessary skills please pop in and speak to Mrs Rich in the school office.

MESSAGE FROM THE FRIENDS
Thank you!: We had a lovely bright evening by the river on Wednesday for the Duck Race. Thank you to all children, parents, grandparents and more who came along - we even saw some of our former pupils enjoying themselves. We raised £160 through duck sales, so thank you ... but more than that, it was lovely to share the event with so many families! A special thanks to the school staff for their support.
And the all important winners were:
1st - Duck No. 10 - Jack (Y3)
2nd - Duck No. 132 - Grace (Nursery)
3rd - Duck No. 160 - Lucas (Y1)
with a special prize for the last duck - No. 139 - Olive (Nursery).
