2016 We the Students Essay Contest
Today is the launch of the 2016 We the Students Essay Contest. This contest features over $20,000 in prizes, and a grand prize of $5,000.
To win, students must answer the following question:
Does peaceful resistance to laws positively or negatively impact a free society?
Essays must be 500-800 words, and included cited sources.

Humanities Texas Fall 2016 Teacher Workshops
In the fall of 2016, Humanities Texas will hold professional development programs throughout the state for Texas social studies and language arts teachers.
In October 2016, Humanities Texas will hold three one-day workshops in Austin, Houston, and Lufkin on the American Revolution.
Teaching the U.S. Constitution
In October 2016, Humanities Texas will hold two one-day teacher workshops in Fort Worth and Dallas focusing on teaching the U.S. Constitution.
Teaching and Understanding Poetry
On December 6-7, 2016, Humanities Texas will hold two one-day workshops in Houston and Dallas on strategies for teaching and understanding poetry.
