This coming Monday, October 26th is an exciting time for Montgomery as we welcome back our K-2 students. Our school day is from 9:10 AM to 3:40 PM. We will welcome back our 3rd-6th grade students the week of November 9th. You should have received your child’s hybrid schedule in Infinite Campus. Hybrid 2 (H2) students will attend Tuesdays and Thursdays and alternating Fridays (Hybrid 2 will attend the second Friday- November 6th). To throw a curve in there for you, there will also be an early dismissal on October 29th at 12:35pm. Please note that Friday, November 6th starts our early dismissals on Fridays at 1:40pm. Students will not have school on Monday, November 2nd and Tuesday, November 3rd. Please click on the calendar below which outlines this information for you.
Hybrid Calendar through December, 2020
For students in K-2- we look forward to seeing during the week of October 26th! Students will be required to wear a mask. A supply of masks will be available for students should they need one. As a reminder, in order to follow our healthy and safety protocols, families will not be allowed in the school building to take their child to their classroom. We will have staff members assigned outside to make sure your child gets to their classroom safely. Our team put a lot of thought and effort into making arrival and dismissal safe for our students. Please be patient with us as the first few days may take a bit longer as we teach our students expectations for arrival and dismissal.
Arrival:
Please know that doors will be open at 8:55 AM. Please be sure your child does not arrive before this time as we will not have staff available to supervise them.
If you plan to drive your child to school, please enter through the parent drop off loop to the right of our school. Staff will be standing along the parent drop off line to supervise your child as they exit your vehicle along the path. Please make sure your child exits out of the passenger side door. Please do not pass the car in front of you. We will have designated areas for kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade upon arrival. We will have adults stationed outside to assist students getting to their assigned location prior to entering the building. Our building will take an “all hands on deck” approach to arrival each day next week to ensure your child safely makes it to their classroom.
Students who are taking the bus will enter through the gym doors. We will unload one bus at a time and students will have an assigned bus row. Again, we will have a plethora of staff members available to assist students make their way safely to their grade level location.
Dismissal:
Parent Pick Up:
If you are picking your child up via our car line, please be sure to have your car rider number from the 2019-2020 school year. Each child/ family will be assigned a number for parent pick-up, regardless of whether or not they plan to be picked up or take the bus. Any new students/ families will be given their number the first days of school. Please place this on your passenger side window/dashboard when picking up your child. Students should place their number tag on their bookbag as well. Staff members will be outside communicating with teachers when your car arrives. Your child will then be dismissed from their classroom and escorted to your car. In order to ensure social distancing, we are asking all parents to remain in the car and not walk up to the main door for parent pick up.
Late arrival/Early departure
Guardians will be signing in and out in the binder that is located in the secure vestibule area. You will show your ID through the glass door. All guardians must show photo ID in order to pick up their child. We will then call your child’s teacher to send them to you if you are picking them up early.
Please be sure to review the Return to School document below which goes through specific guidelines around returning to school.
Open Discussion
Tomorrow, October 22nd, I will be holding an open discussion to answer as many questions as you may have regarding the reopening of schools. The discussion will occur at 1:30pm. I understand many of you may not be able to attend to due prior obligations, therefore I will record the Q& A session and release the recording that evening. You may find the meeting link HERE.
