Stage 1: Germinal (0-2 weeks)

Cells start to divide

Egg is implanting into uterus

Amnion, placenta, and umbilical cord are forming

Stage 2: Embryonic (2-9 weeks)

Brain and spinal cord are visible

heart beats

embryo is one inch long

breasts swell

morning sickness

fatigue

Stage 3: Fetal (9 weeks- birth)

Breasts are firmer

discomforts of early pregnancy

increased appetite

sex Organs begin to appear
