Communication and Updates
Bobcat Families,
With school returning face to face on Monday, we will be moving away from weekly newsletters but will continue to update everyone through future newsletters, Skyward, and social media. Please be sure to check your emails and Skyward routinely for any updates.
You should have received an email on Monday in regards to our Welcome Back letter. The letter is linked below if you need to reread it. Please review that carefully as that has a lot of information in it that you will need to know.
Most of what we did when we were face-to-face in the fall will still be in place as we start school again. Our school hours go back to 8:15-3:10. The office will be open from 7:30-4:00
Our arrival and dismissal will be the same as we had it in the fall.
For arrival, the earliest we have supervision for students is 8:00. We want to avoid backing up Wilder Road with traffic so do not arrive early to drop your child off prior to 8:00. Have your child ready to exit when they approach the main doors of the building. Students must exit the passenger side and hugs and kisses should be done prior to leaving the house. Pull all of the way forward and don't let out your child until you see a safety patrol or adult outside of your door to prevent backups.
For dismissal, your child will be at the chain link fence on the east side of the building at the following times.
3:00 - Kindergarten
3:02 - 1st grade
3:04 - 2nd grade
3:06 - 3rd grade
3:08 - 4th grade
3:10 - 5th grade
With snow gear and much more to prepare, it may take a day or two to adjust time frames. Grades K-2 parents should arrive at school at 3:00 and grades 3-5 should arrive at 3:05. If families arrive early, it creates several problems. First, we run out of parking very quickly. Second, when the students come out to find their family, there are many more parents waiting at the gate to pair up and it delays the child recognizing their family. Therefore, stay in your car until you see the child's teacher or it is their specific dismissal time. This will keep everyone warm and keep things moving smoothly.
If you have any questions please let us know and we will be happy to give you guidance.
Sincerely,
Craig Pfenninger
Bangor West Principal
