Beach Erosion

ISSUES, EFFECTS, AND WHERE IT OCCURS

When water erodes, the land houses are on allows water to flood the homes when it is a very high tide. Also when there is a hurricane, it allows the water to overflow into the houses. When the water flows into where homes are it can ruin the house, kill people, and ruin the economy. Beach erosion occurs on land by any large body of water.

THE EFFECTS ON WILDLIFE, EFFECTS ON LEAGUE CITY, AND PEOPLE EFFECTED BY THIS

When the beach erodes, it can cause loss of animals habitats, so animals go elsewhere. Coastal erosion does not effect League City directly, but some people may move from Galveston to League City beacuse of the beach erosion. Many people live on the beach and when beach erosion occurs, it can cause the house to submerge into the ocean or can cause a landslide.

THE CAUSES, THE SOLUTONS, AND NEW SOLUTIONS FOR BEACH EROSION

Beach erosion is caused by waves caused by storms, heavy fast winds, boats rubbing againt the land, or fastmoving motor crafts. To solve this large and threatning problem, people replenish and manage the sand. People also build a seawall to prevent the water from damaging the land. One solution we came up with is that people can slow down their motor craft near shore to slow beach erosion.
