NVHS 21/22 News #22
1/10/22
Resolutions... What's yours?
Whether you call it a resolution or a commitment to change, what do you want 2022 to look like? Here are a few things, we'd like to suggest:
- Don't procrastinate. Study a little each day instead of waiting until the day before the test.
- Take some time to relax and unplug. Set a limit on your social media and spend some time with your family.
- Let go. Everyone makes mistakes, so learn from yours and try to do better next time.

2nd Semester
This is the first week of the 3rd grading period and the second semester. That means we are half way through the school year! Teachers are finalizing grades and getting ready for report cards. Report Cards will go out Thursday of this week. Students who have been quarantined during the last 2 weeks of the grading period will be given an opportunity to complete missing work. They are to email Mrs. Denise once returning to school if they need an extension.

Car Raffle Begins
For the 5th year, we will be participating in the Vermilion Parish Car Raffle. Mendoza Ford is donating a Ford Bronco this year. The proceeds from the tickets sold through NV come back directly to NVHS. Please take the time to read our raffle letter and assist if you can.
Students incentives for selling tickets will be posted in their Google Classroom.

Intervention
NVHS will begin running an intervention schedule twice a week. This provides each student with either 30 minutes to catch up on homework or get ahead on their AR or 30 minutes to work with a teacher on a concept they missed or need retaught. Juniors and Seniors are required to check their Google Classroom each Monday night to see if they are assigned to an intervention room. Juniors and Seniors not pulled for intervention, will report to first hour by 7:40. All 9th & 10 graders are required to be on campus and in class by 7:15 as normal. Intervention rooms will be posted by 6pm each Monday evening.
