Construction Update

Progress continues to be made on the new Summerside and Willowville Elementary school buildings. The early site work to prepare for the building construction is in the final stages. Site drainage and erosion control measures are in place at both sites. The masonry contractors are working on the first floor exterior and interior walls at both sites to prepare for the delivery of structural steel in early September. Once the structural steel is in place work will progress to the second floor.

Underground utilities have been installed under the building pads, with the pouring of the concrete floors still ongoing. The buildings are scheduled to be under roof in early January to allow for interior finishes over the winter months. We are on schedule to demolish the existing buildings in the Spring of 2019 with the new buildings opening in the Fall of 2019.
