A Note From Principal Danielson

Trees are starting to bud and flowers are not far behind, the weather has started to break and the sun is definitely a welcomed sight. As we slide into the end of the year, many events will be coming up quickly, so please be sure to check below for dates and times.

Please continue to check your emails weekly for updates and coming events.

As we get into summer, it is always a good for kids to rest and play, but we don't want their brains to just sit either. Picking out a good summer read for the beach or pool, take some nature walks and talk about what you see, or taking meaningful trips with history or other educational ties are great ways to keep exercising the brain. Here is also an article with things for Middle Schoolers to do over the summer: https://askversed.com/blog-post/12-things-middle-schoolers-can-do-summer

May 2nd, SPS will have a Headlee Restoration initiative on the ballot. Please see the flyer below for more information: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1w0FbgekJALrdHESgx4Aorvlxku8CGrtI/view?usp=sharing

As always, if there is any way we can help, please do not hesitate to call or email.

School Counselor's Corner - A message from Ms. Sly and Mrs. Dobben

Spring Break is over and it's time to finish the school year strong! Wrapping up means testing (NWEA, M-Step, and PSAT8), making summer plans, and looking ahead to next year. For our 8th grade students, this process started last week when Mrs. Gauthier, the high school counselor, stopped by Mr. Curtis's classroom to review course requirements for next year as well as the importance of GPA and having good grades. Students were also walked through an initial stage of course selection and instructed to take home their course selection sheets for your review and signature. Please make sure students return these sheets to the middle school office as soon as possible so that their courses can be scheduled for next year. The remainder of the school will be completing course selections in the coming weeks.
