Martin’s International Culture, Inc, producer of the 32nd Annual International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA) has nominated Claudius "Supa" England in the category of Best Music Video - for his “Thousand Pickney” video.
This song speaks to the growing issue of "fatherlessness" and the pain it brings - it also speaks of forgiveness and hope in a faithful God. Written by Claudius and his father Wesley, this track was produced by Richard Mason/ Rebel Soulz' on their Pearl Riddim. The video was directed by Robin Chin of Enhanced Realizm Studio and features Claudius accompanied by Darren Laidlaw, Juliet Henry, Juerdain England, Joel England and Geodahl Henry,
The primary objective of Martin’s International's IRAWMA Awards is to promote Reggae, Caribbean, African and other world music as art forms and as a vehicle for the expression of the voiceless peoples of the world. Each year, IRAWMA honors entertainers and others associated with world music for their contributions to the industry and to humanity internationally. More than 20 million fans viewed broadcast and clips of the 29th, 30th and 31st IRAWMAs, both on television and on the internet in the last three years.
This is the second year that Claudius has been nominated for this prestigious award - The first was in 2012 in the category of Best Gospel Oriented Song for his "Done For Me" single. (Listen here)
