Kids’ Café has successful summer
Special thanks to all of you who helped make this year’s Kids’ Café Summer Meal Program was successful! We served 11,860 breakfasts and 13,607 lunches (for a total of 25,467 meals) to young people from our community. Of the total meals:
- 1,341 were distributed at Snohomish High School
- 3,450 were distributed at our local Boys and Girls Club
- 1,700 were distributed at Circle H Mobile Home Park
- 1,646 were distributed at Three Rivers Mobile Home Park
- 1,984 were distributed at Snohomish Aquatic Center
- 5,146 were distributed at Seattle Hill Elementary
- 2,472 were distributed at Centennial Middle School
- 2,140 were distributed at Emerson Elementary
- 1,102 were distributed at Cascade View Elementary
- 1,738 were distributed at the Avenue D Mobile Home Park
- 2,748 were distributed at Valley View Middle School
We truly could not have accomplished this without the support and assistance of our community volunteers. This summer, 217 volunteers (totaling more than 1,085 volunteer hours) joined us in our effort to feed children and families from our community. Their help allowed us to feed children who may have otherwise gone without. Thank you, Snohomish!
School supply lists (2020-2021)
Click here for a list of suggested school supplies that will be helpful for our elementary-aged students (grades pre-K-6) to have at home or where they access their learning. Other supplies may be requested or required by individual teachers after the start of classes.
Middle and high school students may consider purchasing a USB thumb drive, pencils, pens, notebooks, composition notebooks, loose-leaf paper, and a three-ringed binder. Other supplies may be requested or required by individual teachers after the start of classes.
Laptop/tablet distribution
Missed last week’s the laptop/tablet sign up in Skyward/Family Access? No worries! Devices will be available for any student needing/wanting one. Laptops/tablets will be available at your student’s school during Welcoming Start (September 9-11).
As we prepare for the start of school we want our families to know the district will have devices available for any enrolled student who needs them. Electronic tablets will be available for students in grades pre K-kindergarten, and laptops will be available for enrolled students in grades 1-12. The district has a limited number of WiFi hotspots available for those families who do not have any internet access and made a request for one. Click here for a list of area WiFi/broadband resources.
These devices will be distributed during the Welcoming Start (September 9-11. Laptops/tablets will be available for any enrolled student who needs/wants one. Any student requesting a laptop/tablet will receive one, regardless if they requested one through last week's survey.
Note: We have received inquiries from families who are interested in purchasing their own devices for their child(ren). The majority of laptops used in the Snohomish School District are manufactured by Dell and have Intel i5 processors or better. They have 8GB RAM and a 128GB solid state hard drive.
