Principal's Corner
We look forward to welcoming you to Parent/Teacher Conferences on October 18th or October 24th. Please reach out to your student's homeroom teacher to schedule a conference. We also have some information sessions (listed in this newsletter) that you can attend to stay informed of opportunities and for supporting our learners.
October is Bullying Prevention Month and here in Wisconsin, it is "Keeping Kids Safe Online" Month as well. This was recently published on Wisconsin's Department of Public Instruction website: https://dpi.wi.gov/news/dpi-connected/keeping-kids-safe-online-month I have been working with our SRO, Officer Joe Nickel, to plan opportunities for engagement among teachers, students, and families and this is one of those very relevant topics to keep our youth safe online. It also has ties to the social-emotional well-being of our students.
Our Principal's Advisory Board met today, and as a team, we reviewed our Studer Group Student Engagement survey results from the last 3 years. I asked two guiding questions, "What do you notice?" and "What wonders do you have?" I took notes on their responses, so collectively we can use that as a launching point as we chart our mission for some outcomes to improve the learning experience and community. We also developed 5 Working Agreements as a team, which serve as guidelines for how we want to work together safely to learn, explore and discover opportunities. I am excited for the ideas and the work from this student group, spanning freshmen through seniors, to unfold this year and beyond.
