Week of 12/14/15
In the spirit of the holiday season I am kicking off the 5 days before winter break. What ever does that mean, you ask? It's my way of spreading a little joy, fun, and appreciation as we countdown to winter break.
Day 1: Monday, December 14th:
Having a case of the Mondays? Never fear, Erica Dardon's Java Wagon is here! Don't turn on the coffee pot or stop at your local coffee shop! Instead come to the staff lounge, place your order and a little elf will come by and drop off your coffee to your classroom. Thank you to PTO for sponsoring the visit.
The fun doesn't stop there.....it's 2 for 1 Monday! Are you feeling a little pressed for time? I am giving you the gift of time by canceling the staff meeting for Monday, 12/14. Take the time to do whatever you need to take care of yourself!
Day 2: Tuesday, December 15th:
Wear your favorite holiday/winter colors to school and enjoy a special chocolate treat in your box.
Day 3: Wednesday, December 16th:
Come to the staff room for a sweet scone, morning bun, or muffin made by one of our parents. Enjoy some relaxing music courtesy of the new disco speaker!
Day 4: Thursday, December 17th:
Special handwritten note just for you in your box.
Day 5: Friday, December 18th:
Come to the staff holiday party at Hanna Boys Center at 2:00-5:00!
Please mark your calendar for January BEST rotations.
Thursday, January 7th 8:30-9:50 grades 3-5
Friday, January 8th 8:30-9:50 grades 1-2
We will follow the same format as we did in the fall. I will send the rotation schedule and review of lesson plan next week.
Flowery Teamwork Shines Bright!
I am deeply grateful for the amazing teamwork at Flowery! Last week was a perfect example of the way we all work collaboratively to support one another. Thanks to Dora-Aldina for presenting the Students of the Year Award at the board meeting. I'm also thankful to Maestro Rubio and Justina for being in attendance and supporting our award recipients. We had a rock star team represent Flowery by presenting at CMC over the weekend. Kristina, Juan Carlos, Juana, Lucia and Lilia were all in attendance sharing their knowledge and expertise with teachers throughout the state. Finally, thanks to Justina, Laura and Mary for holding down the office on Friday while I hosted District admin for a great morning of learning. Administrators were impressed with our learning environment and had an overall great day at our school!
