CMS Tribe Talks 10/12

October 12, 2022

What's happening @CMS

It's a short week at CMS, but it's ACTION packed as usual!

We would like to give a HUGE shout out to our teachers. Our CMS teachers spent the teacher workday working very hard looking at student data, and completing some professional development tasks to help CMS continue to the BEST we can be. If you see a teacher out and about, please be sure to thank them for all the extra things they do for our school!

Report cards will go home next week- please be sure to sign and return it to school the next day. If you need help accessing your child's grades and attendance on PowerSchool, please contact one of our counselors or Ms. Caldwell.

There are lots of important announcements and information in this week's newsletter. Please be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to ensure you are "in the know" about all the things happening at CMS!

Have a great week and Go Warriors!

National Bullying Prevention Month

Good morning! October is National Bullying Prevention Month! We all know what a bully is, right? Someone who is NOT nice, not fun, and not a friend! But do you know what a #KindVibe is? A #KindVibe is a GREAT way to help stop bullying. It's a way to be nice, to be fun, and to be a friend! It's a way to treat others with respect- just as YOU want to be treated in person and on social media.

Here at Centre Middle School, as part of National Bullying Prevention Month, we want all of our tribe members (That's' YOU, students, staff, parents and community!) to spread #KindVibes! By spreading more good words and kindness, we can make CMS and Cherokee County a place where bullies don't stand a chance, because bullying and abuse are never OK.

So how can you spread these #KindVibes? We've got some ideas! Complement a friend. Let someone go ahead of you in the lunch or break line. Write a kind note- just because.

This month especially, we encourage you to speak out when you see bullying, cyberbullying, or other hurtful and abusive behavior. Show kindness to others. #KindVibes starts with you. So get out there and spread the #KindVibes!

If someone is kind to you, share it on Facebook Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #KindVibes, and let's spread positivity by recognizing others for being KIND!
