March 23, 2020
Greetings Peirce Families,
On Thursday, March 19th Mayor Lightfoot announced all schools will remain closed through Monday, April 20th returning on Tuesday April 21st. During this unprecedented time I hope that you are in good health and spirits. As a mother to a Peirce 8th grader, I recognize the challenges, uncertainties and worries that are present, I also look for the good that can come from this time - an opportunity to slow down, spend time with loved ones and support our community.
Meals continue to be available to students daily between 9 a.m and 1 p.m. Lunchroom staff will prep, bag, and provide meals at the main entrance of the school.

At Home Learning Opportunities
Teachers have been busy changing the way that they support student learning, this has not been easy! Some teachers have posted videos, created google classrooms, use email, google hangouts and more. Please remember that instructional opportunities presented to students will not be graded. Check out a few of the great things going on at Peirce:
Ms. Baumgarten & Ms. Graney have a 224peirce instagram site
Free internet access is available through AT&T, Spectrum, and Comcast. ISBE has listed these opportunities at www.isbe.net/keeplearning.
