LIS Tiger Talk
October 21, 2022
Principal's Update
Tiger Families,
Next week we will be participating in Red Ribbon Week, the nation's largest and longest-running drug-use prevention campaign. We have spirit days (listed below) and age-appropriate activities planned throughout the week.
Our 6th Grade Student Council is extremely excited to host their first special event of the year- Trunk or Treat. All Loveland families and community members welcome!
All families should have received the special Tiger Talk this week about conferences. The same information is included below. Also, quarter 1 report cards are now available in Tigerparent.me. If you have questions regarding report cards and/or conferences, please reach out to our staff.
Encourage your Tigers to get outside and enjoy these last few days of 70+ degree weather. I definitely hope to do so with my crew.
Have a great weekend! Go Tigers!

#beLOVEland Showcase Night October 26
Our Loveland Tiger community is invited to #beLOVEland Showcase Night. This event is a chance for our students to shine in a district-wide open house. We will showcase many of the great programs and activities available across our Loveland City Schools. Many of our students will be involved, including programs like robotics, music, performing arts, Hope Squad, and great examples of classroom lessons. Parents can learn more about our great Booster groups and parent-teacher organizations, sign up to volunteer, and reconnect with the great things happening in our #1 rated school district.
We invite you to join us for #beLOVEland Showcase Night on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, from 6:30-8 pm at Loveland High School.
Join Superintendent Mike Broadwater for a chat in the auditorium at 6:30 pm, where he will provide more information about district finances and the operating levy our community will decide on November 8.
LIS Staff Update
Donna Ernst, LIS Secretary, has accepted a position at our district office. She will be greatly missed. We will be welcoming Abbie Mueller, as our new secretary, on Monday.
Jennifer Blust will be starting as our new receptionist at door 1. She is replacing Mary Megios who moved into a secretary role at LMS. We are excited to have Abbie and Jennifer join our team.

NEW! Mentoring Program for LIS Students
We are excited to announce the creation of a new mentoring club at Loveland High School called Tiger Talks. This club was created by a current 11th grade student with the mission to create meaningful connections between LES/LIS students and LHS mentors. If you choose to sign your child up for Tiger Talks, they will be paired with a high school student who will become their pen pal.
If you are interested in signing your child up for the program, please click here. This form will ask you to provide your student’s name, and there are a few questions that will ask you about your student’s interests. This will assist in matching your student with an LHS student. Participation in this program is completely optional and LIS students will be paired with mentors on a first come, first serve basis. Tiger Talks is being advised/supervised by Loveland school psychologists.
If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Robin Purdin (LIS School Counselor), Noah Gilbert (LIS School Psychologist), Rachel Freeman-Hicks (LHS School Psychologist/Club Advisor), or Maddie Aliaga (Club President). Their contact information is below. Thank you!
