Crocodiles are birds. I lied they are reptiles closely related to birds. They have leathery skin and are scary. They look like logs underwater which is how they KILL! How do they do this so well? We should trace their origin to their ancestors to find out.

Crocodiles took a very long time to evolve
It took millions of years to evolve. Crocodiles generally looked similar to their ancestors with scales and head shape. They walked on land. They were in the Miocene era. A more warmer period but their population spiked downward towards cold periods. The Miocene Epoch was the perfect environment for reptiles so you could see how crocodiles thrived.
How do we know these crocodiles are ancestors?
There are pictures of fossils which we don't need rocket scientists to figure out they are related to present crocodiles. They have the similar mouth and teeth. Take a look at the pictures below.
