PTA Proposals and Meetings
The next PTA meeting is fast approaching and so is the deadline to submit proposals of how to spend PTA dollars! We hope you plan to attend the January 22 meeting and hear any proposals that are brought forward to the membership. If you have an idea you’d like to bring forth, a draft proposal is due to the exec team next Monday, January 8. You can find a proposal template at www.irvingtonschool.com/helpful-links/#forms or email pta@irvingtonschool.com with any questions.

(REPEAT) Irvington Career Day: Recruiting Presenters!!! Only a few more needed. We will host our first, school-wide Career Day on Friday, March 15, from 1-3pm. Please read this letter for more details about being a presenter and complete this form if you are interested. You can direct friends and family to reach out to me, too. Thank you!!
New Gates around Campus
As a part of grounds improvement, the district's facilities and maintenance team installed gates on the two fence openings along Thompson St. We will keep them locked during school hours to limit adults accidentally walking onto campus, and they will be unlocked all other times. (It was an oversight that they were locked over winter break.)
Unleashed Dog Incidents at Irvington
The Irvington School Administration and PTA are working with Animal Control to address the issue of unleashed dogs on Irvington School property. (Regardless of the time of day, leashes are required for dogs on school grounds.) We have received many complaints about unleashed dogs and related safety incidents at Irvington. If you or your student have been involved in any dog-related safety incident that you would like us to share with animal control, please send us an account of your experience to ptapres@irvingtonschool.com. Incidents related to dogs biting, chasing, and threatening behavior by owners are of particular concern.
