Have you ever noticed how kind and patient we can be with our family, friends and students when they make a mistake, yet when we make the mistake , we really pull out that self-bashing stick and give ourselves such a terrible time? We can be our own worst critic! Our self-talk, our impression of ourselves, our assumptions before we have even tried...it can all be very unkind and very unfair! Time to put that proverbial stick away and look at ways that we can learn to be more self-compassionate. It is ok to show yourself the same love that you show others! Learning to be self-compassionate is a skill that our children pick up on, too! Modelling empathy for self teaches our kiddos that they, too, can treat themselves with more kindness and understanding when they make mistakes. We can let go of mistakes more easily when we have not attached shame to them. Time to lift the self-shaming and start self-caring with self-compassion!!

~Mindful Magazine is an excellent resource for learning how to be kinder to yourself. Sign up for their monthly magazines- they are free!
~Write about ALL of the things you love about yourself. Fill your jar and open as needed, to fill yourself back up. (This example is from the militant baker.com)
