Chattahoochee-Flint RESA:
Establishing a Community of Practice, Volume 1
Welcome to the First Edition of our LDC Newsletter!
Building a Module in "Real Time"
- Is it important beyond the classroom?
- Is it authentic for the discipline?
- Is it often difficult or likely to harbor a misconception?
- Does it offer the potential for engaging students?
Then, over twelve weeks, 10 virtual sessions guided teachers step-by-step through the process of building an Instructional Ladder to enable students to experience success with the CCGPS literacy standards. Following each virtual session, teachers were given time to process their new learning and to complete the corresponding section in their own modules. The final product of the Facilitator Think-Aloud module is "Who Owns the Artifacts? Scaffolded Instruction for Preparing Students for the Georgia Milestones Extended Response Item" https://coretools.ldc.org/#/mods/a54cc710-3830-44c7-ae12-2ceff24e1548
Upcoming newsletters will feature the virtual sessions that led to the step-by-step creation of "Who Owns the Artifacts?"
