As a reminder, students should be fever free, vomit/diarrhea free for 48 hours before returning to school. If you or you child have been exposed or tested positive for COVID, you MUST contact nurse Kristi Williams at 501-581-1191 for further instructions. We are hoping for semester full of healthy children!

A Peek at the Week
Little House in the Big Woods
1st grade teachers were Hooking students today into their new book “Little House in the Big Woods.”
They took students back in time using a series of slides that introduced that time period and the main characters!!
Goals, Goals, Goals!
Henry's Freedom Box
Today we read the book Henry’s Freedom Box.
Henry was a slave who mailed himself to Philadelphia in a wooden crate in order to be free. To help understand how he must have felt, students curled up in a ball on top of their desk and had to sit like that for one minute. This only gave us a small idea about how Henry must’ve felt. He was in his box for 27 hours!
Counselor Corner
Parents,
It was a great first week back with your kiddos. We just love them so much. Our word of the month for January is LEADERSHIP! We are discussing what a good leader is inside the classroom, within our school and outside of school. Here are some examples of what makes an excellent leader.
In our counseling lessons over the next few weeks, we will discuss leadership and tie it into our character strong word of the month: creativity. Being a leader isn’t always easy and we need to get creative on how to be a positive leader in our school.
If you have any questions or need anything, please do not hesitate to contact her. pagec@greenbrierschools.org or 501-679-1029 ext 3.
