2017-2018 Annual Loyalty Fund Campaign Ends June 30
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the 2017-2018 campaign! Your support makes a big difference in the life and mission of George Walton Academy. Our last day to accept gifts is Friday, June 30. We'll email a proof to donors on July 11 so you can check your listing before we submit our final numbers for the Annual Report.
There's still time to make a donation! Click HERE to make your gift online.
Due to your overwhelming support of the IMPACT campaign, we have been hard at work this summer renovating our campus. The cafeteria, PARC academic learning centers and the front foyer continue to progress each day. Along with these major projects, here are some of the other improvements our students will enjoy when they return to campus:
- Our hallways and classrooms are getting a fresh coat of paint and new carpet.
- Our "Welcome Shack" (gatehouse for the main Bulldog Drive entrance) will soon be constructed.
- The playground by the football field has been cleared in order to bring new playground equipment and a basketball court to that area.
- Many roofs are being resealed to fix current issues.
- Our TV studio is being relocated to a central location near the upper school media center.
- Trees have been removed in order to create more parking along Bulldog Drive.
Additional improvements will begin soon and are due to be completed before school begins.

Let's See Your Summer
Do you have an amazing photo of a GWA student and his or her adventure this summer?
The Yearbook Staff would love to use some terrific summer photos for the summer pages of the yearbook. Summer trips, summer jobs, summer classes or camps would all be interesting things to include. You can go to yearbookordercenter.com and use our order number 14485. When you upload a picture via eShare, you can include most of the information that we might need for the yearbook.
Campus Clean Up Day: August 4
Show your school pride and join your fellow Bulldogs for a few hours of GWA community service by participating in our annual campus cleanup day. Bring your rakes, tool belts, work gloves and trash bags to help us spruce up the campus for back-to-school activities. We’ll start working around 7:30 a.m. and wrap up before lunch. Snacks and water will be provided.
Parents, students, faculty and staff are all invited. This day of campus beautification is a great way to get involved and give back. Please email Elizabeth McDonel at email@example.com to RSVP so we know how many to expect. Hope to see you there!
The Dawg Shop will be open for business from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 27 and 28 and will have new spirit wear and new uniforms available for purchase! Get a head start before school and avoid the rush at Open House.
Dawgs360 will also be in the cafeteria from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 27 and 28 selling gently-loved uniforms and offering opportunities to sign up for Dawgs360. If you have gently-loved uniforms that you would like to donate, please contact Elizabeth McDonel at firstname.lastname@example.org. Come join our mascot and enjoy the fun!
Thank you to the seniors who have already had their pictures taken. And thank you to the Monroe Art Guild for letting us use their facility. If you have a senior that has not made an appointment for pictures this summer, please contact Elena de la Rosa to make an appointment for July 16th or 17th. Here is her contact information:
