A message from Mr. Brown:

Hello Husky Families,

We are officially into February! I am very excited about all of the exciting things that our students will have the opportunity to experience that this month brings us.

February is Black History Month and I am excited that we get to highlight important accomplishments and contributions of African Americans from South Carolina and the United States.

Today (2/1/23) is World Read Aloud Day. Students often experience read alouds at school on a daily basis, but today we will share a focus on Read Alouds that are so important as we build a love of reading with students.

We are excited to bring back the Daddy Daughter Dance this Friday and cannot wait for our girls to experience this evening with an important adult in their life!

We will host another Book Fair at the end of the month so look for more information on that from our school Librarian, Emily Black!

The 4k application is now open and pre-enrollment for 5 year kindergarten for 2023-2024 school year.

As we continue into the 3rd nine weeks I encourage families to set academic goals for the rest of the year, read each evening to and with your children and talk to your children about what they are learning each day in their classroom.

4k Application and 5k Enrollment Now Open!

4K/5K Enrollment (Applications Open on January 30, 2023)

Don't wait so we can begin sharing communications with you about opportunities for your child between now and when school starts!!!

We want to provide you with some things to be aware of before you begin that process. You need to complete enrollment for both 4K and 5K with the school your address is zoned for. If you are unsure what school that might be, please use the "FIND MY SCHOOL" tool on the main page of the district's site or click "Find My School" below.

4k is a needs based program and therefore you must APPLY for your a spot for your child. A spot is not guaranteed. For 4K Application: you will click on Academics (at the top of the Lexington1.net main page), and then click on "Preschool Programs" to find the application. You will be REQUIRED to upload all of the necessary documents. You will not be able to submit your application without uploading those documents.

For 5K Enrollment: you will click on "I Am a Parent" on the main page of the Lexington1.net and then click on "Enrollment" for 2023-2024 school year.

You will have to have the long form birth certificate, updated shot record, proof of residency (power bill, water bill, or rental/lease agreement), and copy of guardian ID with the address matching the other proof of residency provided.
