Weekly Update #4 August 29, 2021
Welcome Mrs. Caroline Preston to our Admin Team!
Mrs. Preston was a living environment teacher here, at Arcadia High School, prior to her accepting an Assistant Principal Role at Arcadia Middle three years ago. She will be in and out of classrooms helping students and staff. Welcome Back!
2021 -2022 Arcadia Theme
ARH's Theme for the 2021-2022 School Year: THE ENSO CIRCLE
The Arcadia High School Community hopes that you were able to calm some of the chaos from the 2020-2021 school year by resting, reflecting and recharging over the summer. We are ready to welcome you back to our building.
It is important to remember that we can consciously choose to find calm in any moment with our attitude. Stress is a reality of life and life is going to happen. The small choices we make day to day and moment to moment can determine the quality of the life that we lead.
As we kick-off the school year, practice actively choosing to cultivate a calmer, more peaceful life. Try getting outdoors regularly for a walk and going to sleep an hour earlier this school year. Notice if these choices make a difference. Intentionally make choices to provide calmness and clarity throughout your days.
Your Arcadia Faculty & Staff are here to help. Feel free to reach out to any of us for support. We are anxiously awaiting the start of the school and know that a great school year is just around the corner!

Weekly Update #3 August 22, 2021
High School Schedule Template
PLEASE READ: Schedule Changes
Please note that all students will receive a copy of their schedule in home base. Freshman will have the opportunity to get theirs early September 7th during Freshman Ignite.
PLEASE NOTE:
Building a high school schedule is very complex. To make sure we meet everyone's need we mailed home course requests in June. At this time if there were any interest in making course changes a parent, guardian, or student needed to discuss this with their student counselor. A lot of careful consideration and variables go into course selection as well as creating a master schedule. While we find student choice very important, especially when it comes to preparing students for their future, the priority is to ensure all students get the courses they need for graduation.
AS A RESULT, the only schedule changes that will be considered are for courses that are true errors please see some examples below:
Situations when a schedule change would be honored:
- A class needed for graduation is missing
- A class a student already took, passed, and earned credit for is on the schedule
Situations when a schedule change would NOT be considered:
- Changed mind about their interests
- Request for a certain teacher
- Request for change in lunch
- Request to be with friends

STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Meet our Lead Custodian, the HEART of ARCADIA HIGH SCHOOL
Mr. Patrick Trevor
Greetings everyone, I was asked by Mrs. Wawrzyniak to introduce myself. I hope this doesn’t sound more like an obituary ….
I am originally from St Louis Missouri, home to the Great St. Louis Cardinals. After graduating from St Louis University, I started my own construction business. Even though it was extremely successful, I liquidated my assets and followed my heart. I threw a backpack together and set out to live and work in Central America and in the West Indies for nearly 9 years.
I loved using my time and talents in providing service to my fellow man. After returning back home to St. Louis I found it a little strange adjusting to life in the first world, but my step brothers and sister were there to support me all the way. They found a group called The Catholic Worker, located in Rochester, NY.
Some of the many jobs I have done since coming to Rochester for this organization include director of their homeless shelter, AIDS shelter for men, and a soup kitchen. While working at the St Joseph’s House of Hospitality I was asked to apply as an HIV/AIDS counselor in an adolescent primary care program at the Anthony L Jordan Health Center (ALJHC). ALJHC is a community health center on Hudson Ave. grant funded by the CDC and Health Recourse (The Federal Gov.)
Soon after being at ALJHC, I was asked to be the Program Director of Infectious Disease Program, overseeing the Prevention and Primary Care of patients living with HIV/AIDS, Hep C, and other Infectious Disease. While there, I met my wife of 21 years and settled down and we began our beautiful family of four daughters and one boy. Meaghan 20, Shannon 18, Maura 16, Saughnessy 14, and Keegan who is 12. Oh! and Kelsey our White German Shepard who is 6.
After leaving ALJHC I thought I would enjoy retirement but with a family of 7 who was I kidding. I came to work in Greece hoping to continue with the service and use the skills and talents from so many other supportive roles. I am happy to be a part of the Titan family.
I’m looking forward to meeting you all and please know our custodial staff have been working very hard to ensure the students, staff, teachers, and the community have a clean, safe environment to be proud of.
If you see Mr. Trevor please say hello!
WELCOME MR. PATRICK TREVOR TO THE ARCADIA FAMILY!

Meet our Newest Team Member: Mr. Anthony Lipani
Dear Greece CSD School Community,
I am extremely honored to have been selected as the new Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics in the Greece CSD. In 1988, I graduated from Greece Athena High School without knowing what my future would hold and where life would lead me. I was 17 years old. 33 years later, my life path has come full circle back to where my personal journey started as the Director of Physical Education, Health, & Athletics at both Greece Arcadia & Greece Athena High Schools. An honor that will be shared with two exemplary educators in the Greece system Mr. Jeff Hibbard (Greece Arcadia) & Mr. Jason Bunting (Greece Athena).
Having been raised in the Greece community, I learned at a very young age that our district places a tremendous focus on relationship development. Specifically, developing relationships as a listening learner. It is with this vision in mind that I look forward to meeting you. Simply stated, building relationships embody who I am as an educator and I strive to teach this skill to all whom I lead. From a silent gesture in the form of a smile, to a positive exchange with a student or colleague in the hallway, to a meaningful conversation with a parent of a child, each action is teaching. I firmly believe that if we can build relationships, extraordinary learning will follow suit.
My experiences as a Physical Education Teacher, K-12 Director of Physical Education , Health & Athletics, K-12 Director of PBIS, Coordinator of Special Education, Assistant Principal, and Head Varsity Football Coach, have allowed me to supervise and lead students, faculty and staff of all ages while growing as a professional. Furthermore, my participation as a lifelong learner, various leadership roles as an administrator, teacher/coach and outstanding instructional supervisors have taught me how to teach and lead instruction with passion and rigor. Most importantly, I believe that all students can learn and as educational leaders we have a responsibility to meet each student at their readiness level in the least restrictive all-inclusive learning environment to ensure overall student achievement and success.
The time has come to reboot and re-align our educational based interscholastic athletic vision & mission to the needs of our student athletes & Greece community and we are committed to making the vision come to life together. We will work together, one day at a time to make your child’s educational based interscholastic athletics experience as a student athlete in Greece fun, positive & a learning opportunity.
Respectfully,
Anthony V. Lipani C.A.A.
Director of Health Physical Education & Athletics Greece Arcadia & Greece Athena High Schools anthony.lipani@greececsd.org
