Mayo Clinic Connects Resilience, Gratitude & Happiness

The below article and especially the video do a great job of dissecting brain research to weave together Resilience, Gratitude and Happiness. I recommend showing your students the video, perhaps 2nd grade and up, but it's your call.

CCD Starts This Week!

From Mrs. Portillo, DRE:

Good morning Mr. Daily. Just a friendly reminder. We begin another year of Religious Education, how exciting. I ask a favor of all your teachers. Please have the shelves to the right of the entrance door be cleared, as the Catechist will be leaving the children's book and supplies on the shelves. I thank you staff for the use of your classrooms. This ministry of Religious Education continues to grow. We, the community of St. Mary Magdalen Church appreciate the use of your classroom and I will have you in my prayers. Continued blessings.

This is for Monday and Tuesday evenings.

Ok, for the most part, I have seen some great things happening in the Clubs. However, this past week I popped in on one club where the kids were doing their thing while the moderators were huddled at a table doing paperwork. This is unacceptable because Clubs are a time for us to share something we find great joy in with the kids! I give you the directive to have tons of fun with the kids in your clubs!!!

Mass This Week

It is the 3rd Graders turn!

If you have NOT registered, please let me know tomorrow, MONDAY, 9/21.
