Live, Laugh, Learn, Leave a Legacy
August, 2021
Dear Patterson Families,
Welcome back to our 14th school year at Patterson Elementary! We are delighted to welcome back our returning families and extend a warm greeting to our newest PRIDE families. With Patterson being the #1 school of choice for families, we welcomed back to school 885 students and continue to welcome all in boundary students. I look forward to working with Patterson’s dedicated staff, caring students, and involved parents during the 2021-2022 school year.
We continue to strive to find new and fun learning experiences for our students. To add to our students’ educational opportunities, we are thrilled to continue our 6th grade trip to outdoor science camp in Prescott Pines, and hands-on K-6th exploration field trips. Students will have a blast with making real world connections that directly correlate with their Science and Social Studies curriculum. Thank you for your tax credit donations that allow us to plan these unique opportunities for our students. In addition, we are looking forward to bringing back our grade level "pay it forward" focus with community service projects.
As we start our fourteenth school year at Patterson, I wish to express how extremely honored I am to serve as Patterson’s Principal. I'm looking forward to learning more about you and your family throughout the school year. I am confident this will be a successful year of working together toward our Patterson mission and vision and also to build lasting memories for our students. Thank you for your continued support in our educational journey!
Live, Laugh, Learn, Leave a Legacy!

Important Classroom Treat Reminder
At times, families may want to celebrate by providing treats for their child’s classroom. Please remember that food treats must be store bought and individually packaged by the manufacturer (example: Hostess/Little Debbie). Donuts, cupcakes and any treat that is not individually wrapped will not be allowed. We also encourage families to share items such as pencils, erasers, or other small treats in lieu of food.
Thank you, families for your generosity and commitment to health and safety.

Ms. Hufford's Library Corner
Welcome back to a new year in the Patterson library!
We are excited to announce that this month we will have our first in-person Scholastic Book Fair since August of 2019! We are still avoiding large gatherings, so our "open shopping" times may be extremely limited. I know that the students are still very excited for their chance to shop. Be watching for more information in the coming weeks.
We are also excited to bring back Battle of the Books which is an optional reading competition program for 5th and 6th grade.
Finally, Birthday Book Club will start up again. This program, along with book fair, are our greatest library fundraisers and they help get more books into the hands of our Patterson students.
You can learn more about all of these on our library webpage: https://www.cusd80.com/domain/3098
