Lunch Accounts & Payment Options
Lunch Accounts
Fenton Area Public Schools uses the Meal Magic point of sale system in all of our cafeterias. For those of you unaware of this program, Meal Magic is a debit system that provides convenience and accountability to our meal program.
All students are given an “account” which is linked to their student ID number. You may deposit money into the account at any time. Deposits can me made through the food service office at your child’s school by cash or check, or online at www.sendmoneytoschool.com with a credit card or debit card . This allows your student to pay for meals or snacks just by using his/her account. Also, Meal Magic gives you certain controls for monitoring your student’s spending and eating habits. You have the ability to check your student’s balance, account history and meal history through sendmoneytoschool.com. Meal Magic will warn cashiers if your child desires an item that potentially could interfere with your child’s allergies, provided this information has been given to the food service department.
With Meal Magic, all of the student’s accounts will look the same, thus protecting the anonymity of those students who participate in any special meal programs.
The Meal Magic system is a safer, and more convenient way to purchase school lunches. We look forward to serving your student in a much more efficient manner, and as always to meet their needs nutritionally through our student nutrition department.

Charging Policy
It is our policy that students never be denied a meal. However, it is expected the parent/guardian take responsibility to ensure they child's lunch account is up to date. We do send reminder notes home about past due balances for elementary students. Middle school and high school students will be reminded their account is low when they come through the line.
Students are allowed to charge (2) meals at the Elementary Schools and AGS Middle School.
Students at Fenton High School are allowed to charge (1) meal and it must be approved in advance by the Kitchen Manager or Food Service Director.
Charging meals is reserved for emergency purposes. It is expected the money be paid back the following day. Accounts are not meants to be used for charging, it is a debit system.
After the first charge, a note is sent home stating the amount due and that child will be given a supplemental meal such as a soy butter and jelly sandwich or a cheese sandwich, along with a piece of fruit and a milk. Please make every effort to not put your child or our staff in this situation. Lunch applications are available online or in school offices for you to fill out at any time.
There will be a $2.00 charge added to your child's account for these supplemental lunches. You are expected to pay for the supplemental meal and any other charges you owe.
Students may use their Meal Magic account to purchase snacks-either for lunch or classroom snacks. If you do not want your child to be able to purchase snacks , please call the food service office at 810-591-4709 or the kitchen at your child’s school.
No charges on a la carte items! A la carte snack items may be purchased with money in your account or cash. However, if you have cash to purchase a la carte items and owe money on your lunch account the money needs to be applied towards your negative balance instead of buying snacks.
