November Library Events!
We will read stories about pumpkins (fiction and non-fiction)
The students will learn about pumpkins as well as what happens when you mix baking soda with vinegar.
The students can recreate their favorite lates at Thanksgiving. The stories are: Thanksgiving at Obaachan's by Janet Mitsui Brown, Thank You, Sarah by Laurie Anderson, Thanksgiving Eve by Dav Pilkkey, and Thanksgiving is Here by Diane Goode
The students are continuing their education of library lingo and shelf browsing with The Library Gingerbread Man by Dotti Enderle. The students will also get to decorate a bookmark to take home.
Thanksgiving Break Out Box
The students will have to solve Thanksgiving riddles to break out of the box. They will work as a team to understand the process and show their 3rd grade team spirit.
4th and 5th Grade
Book Club: Wishtree by Katherine Applegate
The school wide challenges are coming together. The students are showing great leadership skills and teamwork as they piece together these challenges. Next week I will also offer them the Thanksgiving Break out Box if they choose to.
Operation Christmas Child!
Our TES Student Council is sponsoring a gift drive for children in need around the world. Please click the poster above to read more and to watch a video explaining this event. Teachers will be collecting items for the class shoeboxes.

IS YOUR STUDENT IN NEED OF TUTORING?
Great Oak High School (GOHS) is offering tutoring for students in elementary and middle school. The students are in the GOHS AP or IB program, or they are now first-year college students. They have stated whether they are interested in volunteer tutoring, paid tutoring, or both.
Please note that this is simply a connection vehicle. TES and GOHS are not responsible for any contract made between parties. If multiple students respond to your request, you can choose the best fit and negotiate that outside of the parameters of the school site.
We are hoping this will help many of our families who need additional assistance in their subjects. Sometimes a student talking to a student is the best way to get the content across!
If you are interested in having a tutor, please fill out the form linked here.
If you have any questions, please reach out to:
