The Weekly Hoot
December 17, 2018 - January 6, 2019
Greetings All -
JUST KEEP SWIMMING!!!!! And spraying Lysol! And wiping down with clorox wipes! That's what I feel like we are all doing at the moment! We will make it through the next three and a half days with no problem. I know we will. I know it is crazy, but once again, remember to sit back and enjoy these last days before the vacation. Do some fun things with your kiddos. It will make the days pass faster for sure. :)
Next Monday and Tuesday afternoon we will be purchasing pizzas for the teachers and instructional assistants who are staying for the Christmas program that night. I am asking that homeroom teachers be here for sure the night that their class performs. The other night is optional. :) I will send out a signup sheet for the pizza as soon as I am finished writing the Hoot. Yours is free and if you want some for your personal kiddos it is $1 per slice.
I am going to get a callout on Monday to all Elementary parents that the class that has the most students here for the evening performance of their Christmas program will receive a donut and hot chocolate party in January. Hopefully this will increase student attendance that evening. So please keep a count that evening of who is here, or not here, whichever is easier. I will be asking you for numbers the day after your evening performance.
On Wednesday, we will be having Polar Express Day and pictures with Santa. For grades PK-1, we will have a "train" in the back parking lot to take the students for a ride. Please feel free to do any other Polar Express activities you would like that day. We will also have pictures with Santa set up in the cafeteria. After all of the paying customers have had their pictures taken, we will let each class come through and get a candy cane from Santa Claus. I will send out a schedule for the train rides and I will call down by grade level for the Santa visits. If you have any questions, please ask.
Since this is my last Hoot before Christmas, I would like to wish each and every one of you a joyous Christmas season. You all have added to my life immeasurably this year and I am blessed to call you my coworkers, but more importantly, my friends. Enjoy your time off and make memories with the ones you love. I know everyone is crazy busy, worried about sick kiddos, etc... BUT, please remember that these days will pass and we can't let this Christmas pass by without any Christmas spirit. So pop some popcorn, watch a Christmas movie, tell the kiddos about your favorite Christmas tradition, do a craft, read a Christmas story...whatever it takes to make it through the next few days. We are almost there and all of us can enjoy 17 wonderful, glorious days off!!
Everyone have a great rest of the weekend! Get ready for a crazy, busy, fun week!
Love to all,
Marcy
Owl Wings This Week Go To...
Amy Keally for coordinating a wonderful spelling bee. I appreciate you going above and beyond so the students in our school have these opportunities.
And Nancy Buckley, what can I say?? Your tireless efforts are going to make both of these Christmas programs absolutely amazing! I can't wait to see them!!
