DANCE CONCERT INFO

We are so thankful you are joining us on this journey of "Living the Life" through dance and tumbling this school year!

ANNUAL THEME & DANCE CONCERT PLANNING

It is exciting to be thinking about the 2020 Dance Concert! It's less than 200 days away! ;) Even though that may sound like a long time, there is much to do in these remaining days. We have already been working and planning for months and are busy choosing music and costumes for the show. We weave together our theme "Living the Life" with the monthly Bible verses and the costumes/music/routines to create a production that showcases our students gifts & talents along with honoring God.

DANCE CONCERT COSTUMES & MUSIC

With nearly 450 students - and many who are in multiple classes - we will be busy sizing, ordering & preparing costumes for Costume Week in April! Ms. Michelle will also be cutting music for the show, so that songs are an appropriate length for each of the 5 concerts. Ms. Cindy will be searching for and typing out the lyrics for the songs too, so we know WHY we are dancing!

Here is our general timeline for costumes, routines, & music:

December - We will measure all students & size each student for their costume(s).

Ms. Michelle starts cutting music.

The Show Schedule will be emailed out letting you know which day each class will have dress rehearsal on Wed/Thurs/Fri, as well as which show(s) each class will participate in on Sat/Sun of Dance Concert week/end.

early January - We will have all costumes ordered.

mid-January - Pictures of costumes will be posted in the lobby - woo hoo!

All prepared music is loaded into the studio computers, so that students & teachers can start working on dance concert routines! :)

January-April - The studio will receive costume deliveries & put costumes together by class.

Students will be learning & perfecting routines along with going over song lyrics together in class.

April - Costume Week! April 17-23, 2020 - Parents are invited to join us to go over the Costume Information Sheets. We will also have students try on all the costumes that have come in and check that the fit is good. We can make exchanges as needed at that point.

Also, April Watch Weeks are the last Watch Weeks of the school year, so that you can be surprised by the finished & polished routines in June!

MKS Out & About - Discovering Abilities Day

MKS dancers, Jaime Finch & Alex Schulz joined Ms. Michelle at Green Trails Elementary for another great morning of teaching dance to the 3rd grade students during the school's annual Discovering Abilities Day! We have been presenting and teaching for the past several years, and it is so fun each year to see the elementary students realize how awesome these MKS dancers with differing abilities can be so talented and be great leaders too!
