Room For Hope
Making Hospitals Feel Like Home
Meet The Founder
Shannon Hartey was diagnosed with Leukemia when she was 6 years old. She was treated at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for over two years. After a victorious battle agains cancer, Shannon wanted to find a way to give back and help kids through tough times, similar to what she went through. When Shannon was 16 she realized children's hospitals needed to change, in the way that there is not enough of a home like environment within them. This thought generated all the steps and actions to get to the mission and goals of Room For Hope.
