North Glendale Family Update

May 9, 2021

Good morning!

One of the casualties of covid this year has been our before and after program, Adventure Club. The loss of this program was a hardship on many and I fielded many questions about predictions about AC for 2021-2022.

In yesterday's KSD eSpotlight, the district shared info about Adventure Club ~ so if you are a family in need of before and after care, PLEASE read carefully:

Adventure Club Information for the 2021-22 School Year

Historically, enrollment for this program is more than 750 students. It is our goal to work towards achieving a similar number.

The process this year is different than in year's past. We will first need families to place their child(ren) on the waitlist. The waitlist link will go live on Friday, May 14 at 10 a.m. and all families will start on the waitlist. Please visit the Adventure Club website on Friday, May 14 to join the waitlist. Then, when a spot becomes available, families will receive information to officially register their child(ren) into Adventure Club.

We need to start with a smaller number of openings while we transition back to offering Adventure Club again. This rollout is important to ensure our procedures are in place and effective.

Again, the waitlist link will go live on Friday May 14 at 10:00 am. On the Adventure Club website and this is the first step in 2021-22 Adventure Club enrollment.

If you have any questions, please contact Mandy Rose.

I just don't want anyone to miss the info, especially the May 14th date, so please check on your neighbors and friends and make sure they are aware!

Have a great week and be sure to reach out with any questions or conversation!

Big picture

School Supply Kits: Orders are Open for 21-22

Want to check something off your list early? We are again partnering with BrightSchoolKitz to provide an opportunity for families to order their supplies online for delivery. A portion of every order will also provide supplies for an NG student in need. Click HERE for the website.

Allergy Season!

It's here!

Allergies are for sure a nuisance ~ I get it! However, we cannot accommodate requests to keep kids in for recess due to allergies. We do not have consistent supervision and also no space!

Reminder: please limit checking your student out of school early.

We will be collecting all student iPads at the end of 4th quarter.

Kids who are in person will have their iPads collected during the last week of school.

Kids in the Kirkwood At Home program should plan on on turning in their iPad, case, charger and cord at the NG pavilion:

  • Friday May 28th
  • 12pm - 1pm and
  • 5pm - 6pm

For our in person families, as we get closer to the end of the quarter, iPads will be coming home less frequently except for Thursday ~ for Virtual Fridays.

KSD NOW will be continuing to provide free monthly boxes of food over the summer to families in the District experiencing food insecurity. Families currently participating in KSD NOW will be automatically enrolled in Summer Support. If you are not currently enrolled in KSD NOW but could benefit from additional food support over the summer, you can register at any time at This information is kept confidential. With any inquiries, please email

KSD NOW is run on donations from our community. If you would like to donate to KSD NOW, please visit We appreciate your support!

The Kirkwood School District is looking to partner with the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis and the Missouri National Guard to potentially offer KSD students and their family members access to a COVID vaccine. At this time, we are gauging interest in our school community on coordinating a KSD community COVID vaccine event. If you are interested in receiving a COVID vaccine, please complete the following survey and indicate your interest in receiving one of the vaccines. If you have already completed the survey, you only need to complete this once. Please note that the three vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson) are approved for different age ranges: Pfizer (approved for ages 16 and over, taken as two doses); Moderna (approved for ages 18 and over, taken as two doses); Johnson & Johnson (approved for ages 18 and over, taken as a single dose).

Based on survey feedback, we will work with the Urban League and National Guard to plan and schedule a mass vaccination event for our school community.

Please complete the survey by Wednesday, May 12.
