2/1- Global Play Day! On February 1st, our school will be participating in Global School Play Day 2023 (GSPD.) GSPD has been promoted by Psychology Today and is being celebrated at schools around the world. You can learn more about the benefits of unstructured play by visiting the official GSPD website:
www.globalschoolplayday.com.
I am inviting all of our students to bring in things to play with on this very special day. Here are some examples of things your child may bring in:
● Non-Violent Toys (no weapons)
● Cars/Trucks
● Dolls
● Markers, crayons, coloring books
● Legos
● Dress-Up
● Puppets
● Stuffed Animals
● Board Games (cannot contain batteries)
● Puzzles
*no electronic devices/sports equipment allowed.
All items must be able to fit in the students backpacks.
Though our play day will be unstructured, it will still be supervised. It is my hope that this one day of play will inspire families to plan for more unstructured play time during non-school hours.

Thursday, February 9th: NO SCHOOL and Parent Teacher Conferences 8:00-11:30 and 12:00- 7:30pm
Friday, February 10th: NO SCHOOL

Kindness Week
February 13-17
The students will be participating in kindness activities throughout the week and the school will be making a kindness quilt that will be displayed in the front hallway.

Upcoming Movie Night in March
Book Buddy Rooms have been busy reading "Charlotte's Web" and doing some fun activities together! To celebrate, we will watch the cartoon version of Charlotte's Web in the classrooms with our Book Buddies and the live action version will be shown Friday, March 3rd. Mark your calendars and keep your eyes out for the popcorn reservations. ALL students will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. Students will need to be escorted to/from the restrooms throughout the film in Soule's Gym!

5/25- Students Last Day - FIELD DAY!- 5th grade parents meet students outside of Soule's Entrance to cheer them on with posters/balloons as they leave elementary school (5th Grade clap out) @ 3pm
