Miner Bee Messenger
TES Family Updates
Ski PE begins when we come back from Winter Break, on January 10th. Please make sure you are keeping updated in our Miner Bee Messenger. We had our student orientation for each of the areas on Wednesday of this week. It went well and our students are excited!
Thursday, December 22nd is a half day of school for our students. Dismissal is at 12:00 p.m. Students will be served a "Grab and Go" lunch and will eat in the classrooms. Students that are not eating school lunch may bring their lunch as they do on a normal day.
Have a wonderful weekend!

A message from Ms. Dawn:
Dear TES Families,
It is with a heavy heart I share with you that I will not be returning as the school counselor after winter break. As some of you know, I’m working on healing my knee after a dog ran into me on the river trail several weeks ago. I’m still unsure of the full impact of this injury but I have been instructed to limit walking and use of stairs for many weeks to come as I begin PT and work through recovery. I’m also dealing with some personal health issues that are exacerbated by stress. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to meet the full demands of the counselor role here at TES. This was not a decision I came to lightly. It is extremely difficult for me to leave mid-year, and I will do everything I can to help facilitate a smooth transition. I feel grateful to have had the opportunity to be part of such a warm and welcoming community.
With gratitude,
Adia Dawn

Attendance will be taken promptly at 8:10 am. Be early and allow extra time. Students start and end their day in the classroom. They may NOT be picked up early from the ski area. Any student who arrives at school unprepared will not be allowed to participate. If a student is ILL, they should stay home. Please notify the office by 8:15.
Unloading your Child’s Equipment
Mark all of your equipment with your child’s name. Use the stickers provided for your child’s skis if you chose. Scholarship ski rental families are not to use the school stickers. All other items should be marked with masking tape and a sharpie.
KG~ all skis are to be dropped off and checked in with a Staff member. Kindergarten skis will go into specific ski group duffle bags. Your student will come to school with their ski boots on and enter through the basement. Check in with your teacher in the designated area of the basement.
1st Grade~ All skis dropped off in front of the school in the school ski truck. Staff will be available to assist. Drop boots off in a designated area outside of the gym on the 1st floor. Students will keep their poles with them and go to class for attendance.
2nd Grade~ All skis dropped off in front of the school in the school truck. Drop boots off in the designated area on the 2nd floor entry by the Preschool. Students will keep their poles with them and go to class for attendance.
Due to Limited storage space, it is necessary that you pick up your child’s ski equipment and take it home at the end of the day. Skis will be lined up on the front lawn for pick-up. Unfortunately, State regulations prevent skis from being transported on the bus. Please mark all equipment clearly with your child’s name so you will be able to easily identify it for pickup. Please use the stickers provided to label your child’s skis, unless from the rental program.
Proper behavior ensures a fun and safe learning experience for all the students. Therefore, all school rules and behavior expectations for students apply during the Winter PE Program. Students are expected to follow instructions and all safety rules on the lifts and slopes. They are expected to be respectful toward their instructor, fellow students and skiing in public at all times.
